What we collect, what we do not collect, and how to control both.

This policy explains how BMI Kalkulator handles information when you visit bmikalkulator.net. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.
The short version
Every calculation on this site happens inside your browser. Your height, weight, age and sex are never transmitted to us or to anyone else. We do not run accounts, we do not ask for an email address to use any tool, and we do not sell data.
What is stored on your device
The site saves two small preferences in your browser's local storage:
- Your theme choice, light or dark.
- Your language choice, English, Japanese or Polish.
These are stored only on your device. They are not cookies, they are not sent to any server, and clearing your browser data removes them. The site continues to work without them; it simply falls back to your system's settings.
Server logs
Like nearly every website, our hosting provider records standard technical information when a page is requested: the IP address, the browser and operating system, the page requested, the referring page, and the time. These logs exist to keep the site running, diagnose faults and defend against abuse. They are not used to build profiles of individuals and are retained only as long as the hosting provider keeps them.
Advertising and cookies
This site is free to use and may be supported by advertising. When advertising is enabled, third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings at google.com/settings/ads.
- You can opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices.
- Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are shown a consent notice before any non-essential cookie is set.
If advertising is not enabled when you visit, no advertising cookies are set.
Analytics
We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages are useful and which are not. Where analytics are used, they record aggregate information such as page views and approximate country, not the values you enter into any calculator.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for adults. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. We do not ask for names, email addresses or any other identifier to use the calculators. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, write to us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information held about you, to object to certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
Under the General Data Protection Regulation, residents of the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom hold these rights. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion, to opt out of the sale of personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information.
Because we hold almost no personal data, most requests are answered immediately: there is normally nothing to disclose. To make a request, email [email protected].
Data security
The site is served over HTTPS. Because calculators run locally, there is no transmission of sensitive measurements to protect. Any email you send us is stored in our mailbox and handled on a best-effort basis.

Some pages link to other websites, such as public health agencies. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. Read their policies before providing them with information.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will appear on this page with a new date at the top. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
