What this site can and cannot do for you, in plain terms.
In short
BMI Kalkulator is an informational tool, not a healthcare provider. Nothing here is medical advice. For any health decision, talk to a qualified professional.
General information only
All content on this site, including calculator results, charts, articles and FAQ answers, is provided for general information and education. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Always seek the advice of a physician or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have about a medical condition or your weight.
No doctor-patient relationship
Using this website does not create a doctor-patient relationship, a dietitian-client relationship or any other professional relationship between you and BMI Kalkulator. Nobody here has examined you, reviewed your history or seen your test results.
Results are estimates
BMI is a screening measure built for populations. It cannot distinguish muscle from fat, it does not measure where fat is stored, and it does not account for age, sex, ethnicity, pregnancy or athletic training. The calorie and body fat calculators apply published predictive formulas, which produce reasonable averages and can be well off for any given individual.
Do not use a result from this site to start, stop or change any treatment, diet or exercise program without speaking to a professional first.
Groups the calculators do not suit
- Children and teenagers under 20, who need age- and sex-specific percentiles.
- Pregnant and breastfeeding women.
- Competitive and strength athletes.
- People with conditions affecting fluid balance, including heart and kidney disease.
- People who are acutely unwell or recovering from surgery.
Getting help
If you are concerned about your weight, your eating, or your health in general, contact a doctor, a registered dietitian or another qualified professional. If you think you may be experiencing a medical emergency, contact your local emergency number immediately. In the United States, the National Eating Disorders Association helpline can be reached through their website if food and weight have become distressing.
Accuracy and corrections
We work to keep the formulas and the reference tables correct and current with published standards. Even so, information can contain errors or become outdated. If you find a mistake, tell us at [email protected] and we will correct it.
